Stratos Fanaras
President & CEO

Stratos Fanaras is the Chairman and CEO of Metron Analysis S.A. He specializes in sampling, design and analysis of social and political research, as well as in strategic matters.

In the past, he served as Head of IT Training Programs at the National Centre for Public Administration, and as a Statistical Analyst at the National Statistical Service. He is a graduate of the Mathematics Department of the University of Ioannina, with a specialization in data analysis (Master’s from Middlesex University) and further training in sampling techniques (Training of European Statisticians, University of Southampton) in the United Kingdom. He has served as a research and electoral strategy consultant for parties and candidates in various elections both in Greece and abroad. His interests include Mathematical Philosophy and theories of mathematical and statistical models. He is a member of the Hellenic Mathematical Society, ESOMAR, and WAPOR. He has published two poetry collections: “The Bitter Story of A” (Athens Voice publications) and “Quanta: I Look at You and You Change” (Topos publications). He has also written the foreword for the Greek edition of the book by French Académicien Gilles Dowek, “Can We Trust the Polls?”, published by EKREMES.

Angela Stathopoulou
Partner Research Director

Angela Stathopoulou is a graduate of the Department of Psychology and Education at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Ioannina and holds a Diploma and an MSc in Social Psychology from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

She has extensive experience in Project Management, primarily in qualitative research, focusing on the public image of political and public figures, the analysis of political dynamics of individuals and social organizations, corporate image research for major companies and organizations in Greece, social research, as well as numerous market research projects. Her work has particularly focused on the food, furniture, and energy sectors, consumer behavior studies, and advertising evaluation research.

From 1989 to 1997, she collaborated with several academic institutions on a wide range of research programs, including the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Department of Communication and Media Studies), the University of Patras (Department of Education), and the London School of Economics (Department of Social Psychology). She also served as a lecturer at the National School of Public Administration and the National Centre for Public Administration.

Since 2006, she has been responsible for the coordination and project management of major European Union research programs, including Flash Eurobarometer, the World Poll Survey, the European Working Conditions Survey, among others.

She has been ESOMAR Representative in Greece since early 2013. She is also a member of the British Psychological Society and the Hellenic Association of Clinical Social Psychology, and has published and presented numerous papers at conferences and seminars.

Dimitris Boulamatsis
Partner Research Director

Dimitris is a graduate of the Department of Mathematics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and holds a Master’s degree in Biometrics from the University of Reading (UK).

He is a member of the Hellenic Mathematical Society, the Greek Statistical Institute, the Royal Statistical Society, the Market Research Society, and the Hellenic Pharmaceutical Marketing Association.

He has many years of research experience in the management and processing of sample surveys and market research projects. His expertise includes sampling and survey design, project coordination, as well as the statistical analysis and presentation of results.

Giannis Balabanidis
Political Analyst, Head of Political & Social Research

Giannis Balabanidis was born in Thessaloniki in 1980. He studied Law and Political Science in Greece and France. He holds a PhD in Comparative Politics from Panteion University and has taught at Panteion University, Democritus University of Thrace, and the Hellenic Open University.

At Metron Analysis, he works as a Political Analyst and Head of Political & Social Research. Among other publications, he is the author of the essay Ideas of Progress and Conservatism (Polis, 2022), the monograph Eurocommunism: From the Communist to the Radical European Left (Polis, 2015; English edition: Eurocommunism. From the communist to the radical Left in Europe, Routledge, 2018), and the short story collection Largo (Polis, 2020), which received the Greek Authors’ Society award for best debut prose writer.

He has contributed to numerous edited volumes in Greece and abroad and has collaborated with the newspapers To Vima, Ta Nea, Kathimerini, and EfSyn.

Penny Apostolopoulou
Senior Research Executive

Penny Apostolopouloy is a statistical analyst and a Metron Analysis executive since 2001. She is a graduate of the Statistics Department of the Athens University of Economics and holds a Diploma in Marketing from the European Marketing Confederation.

She is responsible for designing and organizing all of the research projects of Metron Analysis in the fields of political and social research. She specializes in secondary analysis and in social and political environment data analysis. She has participated in the exit polls conducted in Greece and Cyprus since 2002.

Eleni Fanara
Head of IT & Digital Transformation

Eleni Fanara is a graduate of the Department of Applied Informatics at the University of Macedonia and holds an MSc in Decision Support Systems (DSS) from the University of Piraeus. She joined Metron Analysis in 2004 and currently serves as Head of IT & Digital Transformation.

She is responsible for the introduction and effective utilization of new technologies, both in terms of the company’s IT infrastructure and across the entire lifecycle of a research project — from data collection and processing to the production of the final deliverable. She also specializes in the development and management of online panels.

She has participated in international projects requiring the use of electronic questionnaires, serving as IT Coordinator.

Andreas Ellinas
Senior Research Executive

Αndreas Ellinas is a graduate of the Department of Geology, Faculty of Science, at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has been working at Metron Analysis since 2007, initially gaining experience in managing software programs for electronic data entry and database creation from quantitative surveys, as well as systems used for conducting computer-assisted telephone surveys.

Today, as a Senior Research Executive at Metron Analysis, he is involved in supporting the preparation of questionnaires for various types of quantitative market research, the day-to-day monitoring of research project implementation in collaboration with department heads, as well as the analysis and preparation of presentations of the results generated by these studies.

Nancy Anastasopoulou
Senior Research Executive

Nancy Anastasopoulou is a Sociologist and a graduate of the University of the Aegean. She holds an MSc in Social Research from the University of Edinburgh, specializing in research methodologies. She has experience in the design and implementation of research programs utilizing qualitative methods and techniques.

As a Senior Research Executive at Metron Analysis, she is involved in conducting qualitative research projects, overseeing the entire project cycle — from research design and the coordination of focus groups and in-depth interviews to qualitative data analysis, synthesis, and presentation of findings.

Panagiotis Ktenas
IT Manager

Panagiotis Ktenas holds a degree in Computer Engineering and Informatics from the University of Patras. As IT Manager, he is responsible for organizing and managing the smooth operation of the company’s information and IT systems.

He also specializes in questionnaire script writing for both telephone surveys (CATI) and online surveys (CAWI), supporting the digitization and automation of research procedures.

In the field of information security, he is responsible for implementing corporate security policies, managing access control, and monitoring the protection of data and infrastructure. He consistently contributes to compliance and operational security by applying best practices and executing targeted awareness initiatives.

Alexandra Moutsatsou
Research Assistant

Alexandra Moutsatsou is a graduate of the Department of International and European Economic Studies at the Athens University of Economics and Business. She also holds a minor degree in Communication from Deree – The American College of Greece.

Her experience in the research field began in 2022, and she has been working at Metron Analysis since 2024 as a Research Assistant in the Qualitative Research Department. She actively participates in all stages of the design and implementation of qualitative research projects, providing support throughout every phase of the research process.

In parallel, as a Social Media Specialist, she is engaged in consulting on social media communication strategy.

Digital content Specialist

Kostis Fanaras studied Jazz Guitar at the Ionian University and holds an MA in Creative Production in Music from the Catalyst Institute for Creative Arts and Technology. He has experience in music production studios as well as in audiovisual production. Since 2016, he has collaborated with Metron Analysis in various roles, including fieldwork, face-to-face interviewing, telephone surveys, and as an IT Assistant.

At Metron Analysis, he is responsible for the creation of audiovisual content, as well as for technical organization and IT support.

Eftychia Basdeki is a Sociologist and a graduate of Panteion University. She holds an MSc in Criminology. She began working in the company’s telephone survey (CATI) department in 2014.

Since 2017, she has been serving as a Field Supervisor. She is responsible for both the preparation and supervision of quantitative research projects, as well as for coordinating and overseeing their quality control procedures. Cati Manager

Dina Giailoglou has been part of Metron Analysis since 1999 and is the manager of the Telephone Research Department. She organizes and oversees telephone surveys conducted using Metron Analysis’s CATI (Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing) system in Greece and Cyprus.

Her core responsibilities include ensuring compliance with the ESOMAR/SEDEA code of conduct and performing rigorous quality control for all surveys carried out. Dina has 20 years of experience in the research field and has successfully delivered demanding and complex projects. She also continuously updates her skills and knowledge, keeping up with new technologies and developments in the research industry.

Our methodology is based on scientifically proven practices, aiming to collect and analyze reliable data that lead to sound conclusions.

Telephone Surveys
Telephone interviews with both the general public and specialized audiences using CATI (Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing) systems and structured telephone number sampling frames, ensuring rapid response to research inquiries.

Face-to-Face Surveys
Personal interviews with specialized audiences using CAPI (Computer Assisted Personal Interviews) or PAPI (Paper Assisted Personal Interviews), conducted in external settings (Exit, Street, Road Side) or professional premises (B2B), applying customized sampling designs.

Door-to-Door Surveys
Face-to-face interviews with the general public in households, using probabilistic sampling techniques and either CAPI (Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing) or PAPI (Paper-Assisted Personal Interviewing) methods.

Qualitative Research (Focus Groups)
Focus group research conducted throughout Greece, as well as online focus groups, online IDIs / tele-depths.

Mystery Research
Mystery shopping surveys in retail stores to evaluate the purchasing process in terms of pricing, services, and frontline staff behavior.

Online Research
Online surveys using self-administered electronic questionnaires. Particularly suitable for reaching specialized or hard-to-access audiences through other methodologies, as respondents can complete the survey at their convenience.

Observational Research
Observation of individuals in their natural environment in order to understand perceptions and behaviors that are not expressed verbally (in combination with other qualitative research methods).

Shop Along Research
On-site research combining observation and personal interviews to gather information on consumer trends and habits.

Experimental / Product Tests
Development of experimental designs in targeted samples (such as case-control studies, matched samples, and monadic/non-monadic tests) for the comparative study of populations, product testing, and the application of stated preference analyses.
